Warranty at D-D Photographics – Sydney
I recently had a quite good customer service experience with Discount Digital Photographics (DD Photographics) in regards to their warranty on cameras.
DD Photographics (http://www.d-d-photographics.com.au/) is a popular online retailer for photographic equipment. They also have a store in Sydney and Brisbane where you can test, pick-up or buy.
DD offers competitive prices. Their cameras are genuine manufacturers' products. However, the products are imported by DD from overseas and therefore do not have the Australian manufacturer warranties. Instead DD is the warrantor and their cameras have a 12 month parts and labour warranty.
I was a bit worried about the above when my Canon 5DII suddenly had an issue with the sensor. The camera was 4 months old at the time. And the images looked like this:
DD's repair service was great. The camera was taken back without any questions and returned to me within 2.5 weeks. This was a good customer experience and I can really recommend DD for buying camera equipment in Australia.
Disclaimer: I am not related to DD Photographics, besides the fact that I bought a camera there.
